It’s important to know the major symptoms of alcohol abuse to get professional help in the early stages of this disease.

Drinking has become part of the fabric of many societies and countries. For them, it is a culture, a practice. It comes naturally and with few problems.

They drink when they are done with their meals, with their friends, on the party, and so on. These drinkers often do not realize that drinking has become an addiction, a problem that has crossed a boundary from moderate to social use. When you start consuming such beverages to feel better and overcome negative feelings, low self-esteem or depression, then you are addicted to it. Dependence can be very problematic. It is important to monitor your alcohol needs and watch out for signs of addiction.

  • You need some alcohol when you feel down and you believe drinking would make everything all right.
  • You keep on drinking even though you know how alcohol can damage your body and you have problems related to drinking such as liver disease.
  • You do not stop drinking even when you have faced legal problems and have been arrested by the police for reckless driving.
  • You drink even though it is affecting your relationship with others and you no longer care for anyone.
  • You start to worry when you feel you will run out of whisky and it will not be available to you.
